Healthy Kids Snacks

After school snacks for kids are tough to keep them healthy and exciting without feeding them processed junk food. I made these baked apple slices with my niece and nephew in mind... they love my little Chex mixes and Savoury Ritzbitz mixes (I might post these 2 recipes later) Mainly, I wanted to give my sister something different to try with them that is healthy, simple and doesn't require a lot of effort to prepare since she is a busy working mom. I find these delicious but whether its something kids will love or if its really just a healthy snack for us adults that just want to crunch on something, either way they are delicious lol These would be great as a little snack in a lunch box, alongside some cheese and crackers, or with some trail mix.

Recipe:

2 Pink lady, gala or golden delicous apples, cored and sliced thinly with a mandolin

1 tbsp of brown or white granulated sugar

1 tsp Cinnamon, ground

*slice apples using a mandolin

*layout apple slices flat in a single layer on a greased cookie sheet

*sprinkle cinnamon sugar mix overtop each apple slice

*Bake at 240 for 1-2 hours until the slices are browned slightly and edges curl up

*cool, store in a sealed container

I hope you enjoy these and feel free to let me know what you think or if you have any ideas on a topic you'd like to see more information on :)
